The M-16 is an assault rifle. Good luck buying one at any gun shop. Walk in and tell the guy you want an M-16. He will look at you funny. All I hear is "We need to ban assault rifles". Guess what folks, you can't buy one. Go try and buy one.

I own a Springfield trapdoor 45-70. It's in good shape and was my grandfathers. It still shoots. It was used by the US Army. In fact, the same type of gun was used by Custer at Little Big Horn.

I also have a Krag rifle in 30 Army (30-40 Krag). Another military assault rifle used by the US military. This one is a multi-shot weapon. This is what Teddy Roosevelt went up San Juan hill with.

Right. Like you're an "expert" on weapons now? I've fired several versions of said rifle there, Walter Middy. And if I said I wanted an "M-16", he'd know full well what I was talking about. Assault weapons are readily available, except no longer in NY.

But in any case, you're claiming in previous posts that you have a serious of obsolete military-issue "assault rifles", but now that only the M-16 qualifies as an "assault rifle". But I thought you had a Krag-Jørgensen "assault rifle"...

Right! I'm not sure that's what Custer actually had with him, in fact I'm pretty sure Nitrous is wrong. But in fact the Native American warriors were carrying the true "assault rifle" of their day: the Winchester .30-30 and had a great deal more firepower than Custer's men.

Nobody will lose their guns.

Obama does not want "yer gunz."

If you think any version of an AK or AR-15 or an M-4, or ANY rifle that has a 20 rnd or more mag is not an assault weapon, you are a Goddamned liar.

That's EXACTLY what they are, and the purpose of eliminating humans is exactly why they were designed.

If your so fucking paranoid that you believe you absolutely HAVE to own one of these, and keep one in your home for "protection" from the Government or the Zombie Apocalypse, you wouldn't pass any mental evaluation to own one to begin with.


No matter WHAT...you will ALWAYS be out-gunned when it comes to the government, so you can forget about that BS excuse.

Keep your shotguns, rifles, bows, pistols...that's not a problem for me.

Buying and selling assault weapons indiscriminately is what I take issue with.

If the only law passed concerning assault weapons, is the one that holds the SELLER accountable for the actions some lunatic might take after going on a shooting spree before smoking himself, I'd be cool with that. That means whomever sold the weapon to the perp that offed himself, should stand trial in place of the deranged gunman that used the shit he purchased from you, the assault weapon owner.


No, it won't stop crime all together, but disarming a mass-shooter while he's reloading a 15 round mag into his Glock is a helluvalot easier than disarming that same guy with 2 30 round mags taped together!


You want an assault rifle? There's an Armed Forces recruiter right down the goddam street.
