Wouldn't they most likely hit something that had more "strategic value" to them?

There were a lot of visiting foreign runners in the marathon, and the finish line was described as looking "like the UN" with all the various flags of other countries hanging, but the fact that it was on patriot day screams angry teabilly IMO.
