How do you conclude that> what's worth more?

- pretty Marshall w/ 70s = $250 / $350
- beater Marshall w/ greenbacks = $300 / $400
- pretty Carvin w/ 70s = $175 / $250
- beater Carvin w/greenbacks $275 / 350

I can't tell any tonal difference between a cabinet 28-1/2 x 30 =OR= one 29 x 30-1/2.

Carvin's are not fingerjoint corners construction, they are rabbeted edges which will break apart easily without support of the back and front baffles.

Marshall cabs are fingerjointed corners, which are superior strength against breakage, but tonally invisible.

An airtight box is what is most important in either box, with regards to construction.

What matters most of all, is the speaker. But people do buy the cabinet for the look of it, all the time and if you swap out the greenbacks nobody notices or cares. Especially if they have a Peavey or some shit toneless foresaken piece of crap amp, or are too inexperienced to care enough.

Why is it a contradiction to sell off a prettier cab loaded with your undesirables, so that the upgrade set cost to you is zero?

Ah, I don't consider them "undesirables". I like them for certain applications. I want to add a cab with Greenbacks to the collection (preferrably a bottom, since I have two slants). Has it occurred to you I might want to keep my original cabs as well? Not really caring if you understand or "approve", but bottom line, it's my gear, my decision. Your continued arguing about it is pointless.

Besides, DJ has more cabs than I do, and we can't have that now, can we?
