Lounge decided to talk about her. No comments whatsoever about tuners. Post 13, he makes a funny but at least it's tuner related. Bravo. The thing is friend, is how you take written typeface. Look, I mentioned that I'd "yell at the bass player for an "A" to tune. At no point did I mention I was playing professionally at this point, the truth is, I rarely play out, and when I do it's at invitations to beer bashes and BBQs.

So I can consider what these dudes are saying from a pro-standpoint, yet it simply doesn't apply to me. Did I take the remarks as an insult? Of course not, as I'm not quite a total bonehead. What the guys are striving toward is an area that I'm no longer youthful-enough to engage, so if a neighbor says "Hey craig, wanna sit in with my band" after a long, sunny afternoon full of beer and televised sports, well shit yeah, I'm in...and I really don't care about being perfectly in tune.

Hell, my Peavey bass amp has a built in tuner with really cool little glowing lime green lights, that allow for tuning to be performed in total silence, for cryin' out loud. I'd never expect a paying group of folks to sit there while some dick-fer-brains up on stage stopped the show while trying to tune up a wayward instrument. You see, that is where the terms professional/no longer professional come into practice.

At this point, I don't care, nor do I have reason to. I'm just the weird, long haired guy from the library that everyone in town knows, that just so happens to strap an SG bass or knock-off Telecaster around his neck every so often at various functions.

Of course, only if the beer is provided free. Fuck this "pay to play" nonsense.
