I was never really into Mercyful Fate, but this girl I dated for a few weeks just loved that shit.

This was probably like '87 or something...in retrospect I probably didn't listen to anything but rock 105...this Jacksonville radio station.

That whole fucking era was like some junior college lost weekend.

Oh yeah, the Mercyful Fate bitch....that was a tumultuous relationship and reminded me of SLAYER.

I couldn't really take that King Diamond crap and eventually pissed her off bigtime one night at a party she threw.

I insulted some metal dude when I went on this diatribe about King Diamond ripping off Dennis Deyoung or some shit at that party of hers.

Turned out it was her brother and shit just went "south of heaven".

Anyway, in a roundabout way, SLAYER comes to mind.

Forgot the Foo Fighters. Thier first album, along with the Color and The Shape (basically when Smear was in the band) seriously rocked.

I got into SRV right around that time. I have all his stuff. Wish I had seen him live.

I got into Reggae big time in the mid to late 80's There was such a musical explosion at that time I listened to just about everything. Lot's of Reggae, blues, African music, as far as rock bands go, I dug Living Color. I also got to see the Grateful Dead live. I never was a deadhead but I appreciated what that band was doing. One of the best bands ever.

In the 90's, I got into Jimi Hendrix big time, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Cream. I really played, studied and read about all those bands hard and heavy in the 90's

I got into the harder stuff after Van Halen. Judas Priest was my number 1 band after VH and still are. Course, then the whole JP debacle happened in 1991ish. That's when I got into the blues. The Allman Brothers Band still does IT for me. And I really dig Gov't Mule and the Derek Trucks band. Going to see the Derek trucks band in April.

I remember being a young lad and seeing Smokey and the Bandit in the theater when it first came out. When Sally Feild is in the car with Burt Renolds and she's bent over looking in the backseat and theres that wonderful shot of her ass. Oh man did I want to get some of that! Who didn't want to cream Sally Field in those days.
