That's kind of how I see it.

He was trying to relay the message of getting older (wiser) and seeing the world thru eyes matured by life experience ("If you could see thru my eyes") and being able to get people to tune into your vibe and take them on a personal journey (cast a spell, weave a tale...the 'magic').

Feelings you really can't fully grasp until you've lived a full life.

That's just according to whoever WB paid to quickly transcribe the lyrics. A LOT of sheet music lyrics are totally wrong. "Help me, be my pills" makes no sense at all. It's "Help me pay my bills." The bozo transcribing it just got a little confused. (Maybe EVH was doing lyrical transcriptions for WB on the side... :D)
