I would like to say something about Van Hagar that some people get confused with:

Van Hagar was sucessful --- millions of copies sold --- four #1 albums --- tours did very well --- and yes, they were still popular.

There was SUCCESS no doubt, mostly due to the fact that CVH paved the way for it.

However, Van Hagar didn't have an IMPACT on the music scene nor were they INFLUENTIAL. Those words can be used to describe CVH no doubt, buit not Van Hagar.

They had success but it was a product of its time, unlike CVH which is timeless, much like Led Zeppelin or the Beatles.

All of this reminds me of when I was driving in my car and the announcement came over the radio that Sammy Hagar was the new lead singer in Van Halen. I remember shouting, "Fuck....that sucks"! and I was the only one in the car.

Then, right before the first Van Hagar album was released, a radio station played the album along with comments from the band. The first song on the first album began with Sammy going, "Helloooo Baby" followed by some of the worst lyrics I ever heard and thought to myself, "why are they calling this crap Van Halen"?

No. He doesn't belong to the original Van Halen line-up.
He was a replacement.

I know Van Hagar went no. 01 with their records, but only the 04 of them who made Van Halen the best band that ever stepped this planet deserve to be there for this RRHOF thing.

I must be deaf? No, I listened to the first release of the first post DLR

VH album and was greatly dissappointed. I am not an Edward sheep

nor a Dave sheep. I call them the way I see them. Van Hagar is a

joke, get over it. Edward is not GOD nor is Dave. I have refused to pay

any amount of money to Van Hagar and will not accept their crap

music ever. By the way, the 40 million is dvided by 8 albums I believe

equaling 5 mil per album, hardly a level of acceptance with the vast

majority?

It has also been brought up with respect to Brian Johnson and his

professionalism with respect to Bon Scott, wich cannot be said with

Thanks for your insight on the Gary clarification, however, this is a Van

Halen web site where the members are somewhat educated in their

knowledge of Van Halen. Van Halen 3 was always Edward's solo

album, if anyone asks you.
