Nice to see that we are getting close now to what was a news story started late last year. There has been a lot of talk between the camps and my source informs me that a deal has been negotiated and yes, this is definitely happening despite bumps in the road on the way to getting the tour signed, sealed and delivered.
Still no mention of new material featuring Roth - it was said to me from the outset that new material was NOT part of this deal and I'm yet to hear anything different.

And in related news, there is a rumor that the David Lee Roth Band will hit the road for some spring dates. I await word to confirm this, but if so, consider the shows as a warm up for the main event!

BUT, the stance of this entire site cannot be to boycott this tour. This is a David Lee Roth website. This is a David Lee Roth tour...his first arena tour in 15 years. And the site shouldn't as a whole boycott it just because Michael Anthony isn't present.

I'm not saying any poster, mod or webbie can't boycott it...fuck yeah, they can. But there should still be regular news about the tour, maybe a tour forum, etc. Hell, there can still be articles in the news section about what a pinhead Ed is...but this tour should be covered.

But think about this: apparently they tried the 'record new music first-then tour' thing (back in 2000), but it didn't work out for whatever reason (songs were recorded though, reportedly 3-5 songs).

So, maybe they can focus on playing a tour first, then finish it and then record a new album.

First, it's a VH tour, not a DLR one. Second, the reason this band is as big as it is, is because of this type of controversy. VH will be playing at the RRHOF show, from what i am reading on this board, so that means, VH= Ed, Al, Dave and Mike.

I also, haven't read anything on MA, lately, which is good news. The last thing he said which was about a month ago was that he hasen't been contacted yet, from Ed or Al. Well now that things are gearing up, i just can't see how MA won't be involved on this tour.

With Dave in now, it might have a very good effect on the way Ed sees alot of shit, and he maybe was the catalyst to having them perform on the RRHOF. Which in turn could be MA way back in.

We are just gonna need to sit back and hope, we can all see the origional band kick ass this summer, or whenever, this takes place.

That doesn't make any sense. The whole purpose to touring is supposed to be to promote new material.

Funny how Ed has been quoted as saying he has over 10 albums worth of material recorded yet he has released 3 whole fuckin SONGS in 8 years.....

Wasn't it Ed who said that they would have to go into the studio and record a brand new album before they would even consider touring with Dave back in 1996?
