Haha....Once I witnessed 5150 live in concert and started hearing van hagar crap on the radio for the following few years, I knew they had become a lame Van Halen cover band.

OU812 tour came to town and I stayed home...even though everyone I knew went....and I told them all...fuck van hagar....I can derive more value from my time by being killed horribly in a bizarre gardening accident than I can by going to see that lame piece of fuck....

I've got every boot I could find, every unreleased track, but that stuff will never take the place of an actual concert, for me anyways, regardless how cool it is to watch.

I know it won't be ANYTHING like what Van Halen WAS, but at this point, I don't see the need to be picky. Yeah Edward is a drunk, and sure Roth's scream is gone I guess, but like I said, it's probably the best I can do, seeing-them-live-wise.

All I know is that when I saw Roth a few months back, it was the best concert I've been to, hands down. Add Edward Van Halen into that, and it can't be THAT bad. Hell, maybe even Roth whipped him into shape.

I completely understand where you're coming from though, this won't be anywhere as cool as anything pre 1984, but beggars can't be choosers.


Besides, what else is there to see this summer? :D
