Needless to say, Dave ain't checkin' the balance when he hits the ATM. As a matter of fact, I've heard that the intro to Yankee Rose plays the split second one of 'em reads his card! If that ain't enough, supposedly the intro to Everybody Wants Some plays after he grabs the cash!!!
    :p

It ain't how much you make, it's how much you spend. Dave no doubt has a lavish lifestyle, and he's got appearances to maintain. Nothin against the guy, but when he goes out with friends, he's probably buying. And it just wouldn't do to buy the cheap bottle of champagne, now would it?

Dave has exactly $12, 897 in the bank. Trust me, I know. Is everyone satisfied now? Can life carry on now that this is known to all?

I don't think that Dave is broke, not by a long shot, but when you consider the properties that he owns and what they're worth, add that to yearly upkeep, plus property taxes (Cali ain't cheap!) I'm sure that takes a chunk of money out of his bank account. He has to keep touring if he wants to maintain that lifestyle I'm sure. He's also known to be frugal (what Jew isn't?) so maybe he has investments to keep the ball rolling. I'm sure he was/is counting on the final tour with the sisters so he can ride off into the sunset and never worry again too.

I wouldn't attend your funeral, but I would send a nice letter saying I approved of it.

                  That's what I've heard, too -- doesn't sound pretty.

Money doesn't mean jack at the end of the day, but boy Sammy sure has a lot of it from record sales and Cabo!

"We drink Mescal right from the bottle
Salt shaker, little lick a lime, ohhh
Throwin' down, down tryin' to reach the bottom
Where the guave worm, well he's mine all mine!"

The Red Rocker takes that one to the bank! Think I'm gonna go get me a shot right now . . .

                  Van Squalen out.

I heard he lent a shit load of money to his family and lost some cash on bad investments, plus back taxes can kill you...remember couple of years ago dave got 450,000 fron cali, due to damages to his home and dave was quoting as saying thats not enough and he would have to live on the streets with that amount. cbs never paid him and yet when was the last time he earned at least 5 to 10 million a year. his lifestyle from lets say 1980 til 1988 can not be supported on what he earned from 1990 til 2000.

Again, money don't mean SQUAT. But it's more than a little ironic how Dave has spent a couple of decades giving Jack Daniels free advertising, whereas Sammy was smart enough to realize he should start his own brand and give HIMSELF free advertising. And now Bette Midler is living LARGE, honey!

I hope Dave is doing well. As I note in every other post I make on Links, I was rocking out to classic Van Halen before most people posting on VH message boards were born. That means I have major cred and my opinion must be respected, almost as if it were gospel. Brett agrees, because he saw the 1984 tour when he was 14.

So bottom line, I hope Dave is rolling in it -- but I doubt it.

This is wild speculation. How do you know the loan wasn't part of some larger plan, say I don't know tax benefits or some shit??

We have no idea other than to say he lives VERY well.

The Pasadena house is close to where I live and I think you would be suprised to know how close it is to a main throughfare and it's proximity to an apt. complex (I'd say less than 100 ft. away from the walls around the perimiter of the driveway).

Dave IS rich, he just lives smart.

Anyone who is saying shit about his financial status is weak. Stern has turned into a bitch now that nobody other than his paid listeners are paying attention to him. Eddie has his reasons too. They are both fucking weak in my book.

Nobody can take that smile off Dave's face. Trying for years, no luck so far!!
