I firmly believe that very few -Cover- tunes are done well. I think the CVH ones were great.If the revamping and retooling of a Cover gets
you the airtime you need, to lay down the real deal, so be it.

I agree that Vh made the cover tunes their own.
And Dave picked some great ones (except 'Dancing in the street'), and Ed picked some great ones (Pretty Woman).
VH covered lots of ZZ Top, as well...though under different names.
Bottom's Up! sounds like La Grange on Steroids, and Meanstreet might be Heard it on the X with more balls.

you dont understand that the cover tunes comment was about how they built their following in Passedena. their first singles were cover tunes. their lauch into stardom was because of Van Halenizing other peoples songs. When was the first time they had a hit with one of their original songs?

Yeah....he was quite entertaining. It did get rather old quickly though.

Anyways, the site is back up. It has reverted back in time....to January, but at least it is back up.
