I actually think his refusal to strike while the iron was hot boiled to the fact that he's making SERIOUS fucking bank doing the albums and tours with Alison Krauss and having to get fired up to do a decent Led Zeppelin set nightly, especially without John at the kit, just didn't appeal to him.

If they use the original recordings of the CVH tunes... Mike still holds song writing/publishing rights on that material. If he's not getting an equal cut on the profits from this game as Dave, Ed & Al... they got no right to use his musical performances and voice on the music... then use Ed's fat brat's image in the game.

Call me a purist... but if you're gonna tap the legacy at least stay true to what it really was. Using Wolfie is no different then erasing Mike's image from the origial album artwork in this case. It ain't right... I'm just sayin...

Seem to remember an interview with Mikey where he mentioned just that. Having to sign rights away to be on the 2004 Train Wreck Tour!

And I doubt Mike has any grounds suing VH over this (if they are using the original backing vox and bass tracks on the songs featuring the current band members in computer generated form).

I think he may have publishing rights over the songs, etc. and thus does still receive a percentage of royalties (save for songs off of 1984, which mysteriously are now credited to only Ed, Dave and Al).

Mike just can't use the VH name or logos to promote himself -- I believe that was part of the 'signing over rights' thing.

First off studio musicians always play the material for the games.
So even though it will be VH you hear, it will not be Ed.
