"I'm told the relationship between Eddie and Dave remains as complex as ever, but there is a definite desire to get a new record completed."
Not sure what to make out of this. If everything was clicking, we'd have something by now. Granted there is a lot of Ed's crap to wade through to find a good tune these days, so let's hope it will happen. This space for rent.Comment

I wrote Andrew at Melodicrock and asked him if there weren't any more details other than that. He wrote me back and this is what he said:
Apparently the new album is going to be called "Tabula Rasa", which is Latin for "Clean Slate", and the first single is going to be called "Independent's Day". The cover art shows the back of a cleaning woman with mop and a bucket looking up at a giant VH logo carved in stone, and you're lead to believe that she's wondering to herself "How am I going to clean this?".
Yeah...something like that, anyway.Twistin' by the pool.Comment

You're joking right.
That was the 2001 rumor I believe.
Or was it the 1999 one, it gets difficult to remember.
Melodi crock is a bit less reliable for Van Halen predictions than slaughtering a goat and looking for an answer in it's entrails...Comment

It could very well be, with all of Ed's self abuse over the years, that this is like Groundhog Day or 50 First Dates. Every morning he wakes & Dave comes by. He thinks WTF is this guy doing here! And Alex & Wolf have to get him up to speed on current events.“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”Comment

The dumbassed sisters don't think anything through. Assuming what BB said Andrew says is true (my ass), that cleaning lady cover art is a terrible idea. If the album is a mess, imagine the field day people would have with that cover.
Just like when they wanted to name the Cherone album Mach 3 and people on the Internet started calling it Mock 3. Some kinda dim wit light bulb went over the sisters' heads only then.Comment

It's just a matter of time before some uneducated asshat pseudo-fan reads that and runs with it.
But of course, it would be fun to watch some idiot embarrass themselves.
In reality, I heard that the first single will actually be "La Cucaracha." Didn't you see Ed debut the riff on "Lopez Tonight" earlier this week?
It's GOTTA be a sign!!!!!Originally posted by perilouspete
