Couldn't have said it better myself. EVH was a big influence as far a guitar went but the guy has lost it all. He's a drunken bum that can't function in society. Unlike the other band members, he doesn't know "when to say when" and has fried what used to be his creative genius. Despite partying as well, Dave has done many constructive things in life for himself and others (i.e touring with the Spammy Burger). Albeit, Ed can't even speak w/o slurring his speach, but that sloppy, slurred speach has now unfortunately translated itself to his guitar playing (the one area where he used to communicate).Originally posted by bobthedog
I agree. Its not a career change, its just something extra to do, to learn for Dave because he's a very versatile, intelligent person, not willing to just sit on his ass and do nothing for the rest of his life. Its his way of giving back to the world that has given him so much, I think and he wants to continue to learn and grow.
Hell, he speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese and is continually studying and working to improve himself to keep himself in top shape mentally and physically. The guy is a phenomenom and an inspiration !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shit people like EVH and musicians can hardly speak English and Dave knows several languges.
