Not sure how reliable something she said is...

I second the notion with Robert Plant taking the helm in '85.... Van Robert would have been a lot better than the pop, synth shit that he actually did instead....

Considering where Plant's head was at musically in 1985...um...no.

Listen to Shaken n' Stirred, THEN come back and say Plant taking the VH helm in 1985 would have been a good choice.

I've listened to Shaken and Stirred, though it was years ago.
Didn't mind "Little By Little"-one of the "singles", it has some of the old Zep stomp in it though I don't like all the synth in it.
Plant would have probably sung differently with VH in '85 because he would have been working with Ed and the rest of the crew.
I'd like to think it would have sounded pretty hot, but this is really all heresay and rock-fantasy here...

A 1925 car that has no get up and go.
It fits, but it just doesn't remind you of why you bought the ride.

To expand on what someone said above, Van Hagar really insulted my taste and intelligence telling me in interviews how bad Dave was. I just realized that now in 2011.

B- I like to think about them having secret auditions in 1985 for a new singer, and the winner and best choice two years before he became known with another band would be Corey Glover of Living Colour,

Granted it's all past-hypotheticals, but in 1985 Plant was distancing himself from the cock-rock swagger of Led Zeppelin, so it's doubtful that if he was avoiding playing Whole Lotta Love during this period he was gonna join Van Halen and essay Everybody Wants Some!!

I have given this much thought. Nobody can replace David Lee Roth. It's impossible. Don't even try. In fact the people who renamed Van Halen to Van Hagar got it. It became a different band and should have a different name.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!
