I remember a few years ago he had received "inside info" regarding the track listing of the new Def Leppard covers album. The bogus track listing included a hidden message that spelled out "This is bullshit", which he didn't catch before posting.

I don't know how anyone could take him seriously after that debacle.

I noticed - and I'm not surprised. In 2003, Melodicrock announced to the sheep at the Links: "I really love this band, particularly with Sammy in it." Since the demise of Sammy, we often get reports from Melodicrock that have a slightly negative slant regarding Dave. This time it was the predictable 'Eddie's not happy with Dave's vocals.' Sounds like something from a source inside the bitter Hagar camp. Probably was.

I hope someone passes that quote on to the Van Halen camp, good motivation material.

The editorial at MelodiCrock is gayer than George Michael serving you olives and green tea in an assless kaftan.

Van Halen, in particular, the Hagar era, has always been a religion for me. All of my very best friendships in this world, were started around musical discussion that led us to discover that “5150” was definitely our favorite album ever recorded, and when it came to live videos, there was definitely nothing that could touch our well worn copies of “Live Without A Net”.

Some magazine used to call their album reviews platter du jour!

But let's hope the new VH is not cheese ...

Its hard to catch lightning in a bottle twice, especially 30 years after the fact.
Those remakes were some of the best ever versions of those songs.

Van Halen then did not just redo them, they did a whole revision with the VH stamp and made it their own.

Not any band can do that many covers and make them their own and all of them get radio play.

It's funny how that Melodi-crock 'EVH wants DLR to wipe his vocal' story seems to have gone viral.

Twice on radio here in the UK today (on the Planet Rock station) and a Manchester station that just changed its name (it was Rock Radio until a few days ago) have both spewed it out again.

The DJ Nicky Horne just played some classic VH, and followed it up with an airing of the Melodicrock rumour, followed by details of a forthcoming interview with media whore Spammy. 'No such problems for Sammy Hagar' Horne just said. Followed by 'Sammy is just a wonderful wonderful guy.'

Listening to Horne is like watching a car wreck; it's compelling because you can't believe how bad he is, and how badly informed he always is about everything. Gives me the boak, chaps.

I hope - when and if it ever sees the light of day - that this VH album slays, just to shut up all the media twats who oh-so-eagerly will kiss the little red worm's ass because he currently has product to promote, and they have some tie-in deal.
