This thing will most likely go gold, maybe platinum... over time. That's fine. It's growing into the fabric though on radio and in other media. Last weekend ESPN was using part of Beats Workin as a bumper during the NASCAR Nationwide race at Bristol. Probably would help things if the band would make some sort of live media appearance on late night or some sporting event...
I heard it during the race too. And the first thing that popped into my head was "VH should sponsor a car for a race." I know - most people probably think that's a stupid idea. But NASCAR averages around 7 million viewers per race. Can you imagine a red, white and black striped Franken-car haulin' ass at 200 miles an hour? They'd get a shitload of press and wouldn't even have to show up. Might sound ridiculous, but it would damn sure get the message out that Van Halen has a new record out.
Anybody else besides me ever buy any of those VH framed plaques they sell on Hollywood Blvd and in some of the big chain record stores? I have a cool DLR EEAS one and a VH Diver Down era one. They are kinda cool.
I'm sure this has been asked before - but are they selling ADKOT cds at the shows? You'd think a lot of casual rock fans - not necessarily die-hard VH fans - would pick up a copy for $10 if it was staring them in the face. I know I impulse buy all kinds of shit at concerts, cds included.
ADKOT had to jump a lot of hurdles (28 years worth) just to become a reality so it's a miracle it was even produced, much less made a respectable blip on the charts.
Plus bad timing from Adele's Grammy sweep and stupid crack whore dying made ADKOT miss the sweet spot of the curve when released.
Be thankful for what you have but don't expect it to conquer the world like it would have back in 1985 - 86 when it SHOULD have been made if not for the fucking universe falling into an evil alternate reality of blandness.
GREAT SCOTT! I hold Doc Brown and Marty McFly personally responsible for this "evil alternate reality of blandness".

Count me in and i haven't bought any vinyl since the mid 80's. Not sure what i'll do with it but by god i'll have it. I'll probably die someday and one of my kids will say "damn, dad was still buying records in 2012. What a wierdo."
