One question and one observation.

Regarding the ringing ears. Last concert some of my friends wore earplugs at the concert and I was stunned. They said 'Oh yeah, you have to do this or you're going to be deaf for 2 days." And of course, I was. This time I am in for 3 concerts in one week and just wondering how many of you wear earplugs and how many go bareback, so to speak.

Now for the girly wardrobe part of the thread - Dave gets props for the new "Star shirt", the new silvery jacket and I think the shirt with the vertical stripes is new too. Hooray! I'll shut up now.

Dave, please listen to this guy and do what he says. Otherwise you're gonna be kicked out of Van Halen again. Van Halens are in top form now. They don't need a singer who can't sing and tries to move like a drag queen instead. Please stop it, we don't want another Van Hagar or VHIII era. We want you in the band!

The interaction on stage looks like there all having a good time .

Good news in late set we get Women in Love, Girl Gone Bad & Outta MFn Love Again, these 3 made me wood up, hell yes.

? Outta Love Again? Gees wow howdy dooody that would be sweet. But I would also be happy with "Outta Space" taking it's place. But pretty Ballsy to break out OLA. OLA is in my top 5, and I thinking of the range of vocals probably ok, and the band is playing tighter than since the early days. Hope everything goes smooth.

Dave does appear to be pushing it all vocally up an octave... also noticed at this last show and the Henson show both he was trying to physically belt it out beyond his normal range to the point he was over-extending his torso and neck at certain points. You're not going to perform well if you are physically over-driving it singing... Passion and emotional performances are fine but as a singer you can't afford to push it until the rev-limiter kicks in too many times.

Clearly their sound system has enough headroom to where Dave could throttle it back 2 notches and still deliver powerful vocals. Dave's always been active on stage but he seems a bit overly hyper, tense and not fluid. Notice when he goes into his low baritone speaking parts how he stops moving and his body posture looks really relaxed. Maybe he needs to scale back the Red Bull or bull... and smoke the joint private parts threw on stage.

Agreed. He actually smoked (one puff before roadie took it away and smoked it himself) my splif and wore the bandana I threw on stage. I was screaming like a 13 year old girl (I was actually 16) Used to think I started that tradition that got them in trouble in Cincinnati back around 1980 but probably not.

Well it's truly epic that VA and RD got to go. Plane tickets and everything, now that's devotion! It's great to see all these "previews" through many people's eyes. Congratulations and thanks for the updates.

I tried to use plugs at the Jersey show in '07 and fucking hated it....

my point is that the truly great singers don't need headsets. since, IMO, DLR is up there in vocal talent with sam, he prob wont be using one for the tour and hes just rehearsing with one for the time being.

Totally disagree. Truly great singers can use ANYTHING they want. Dave is and can.
