I think it's probably Dave, too. He's been listening to that stuff for decades, and it seems simple enough - although there is skill in it as well.
One of the best live performances I've ever heard by VH - my favourite, probably - is 'Ice Cream Man' live in Greensboro '81. Dave was playing that spangled hollowbody, semi-acoustic on that tour (looks like a Gibson 335). In the long extended intro, with the rant against journalists, Dave plays some slow tasty lead lines. Very flat, but very bluesy - not a lot of vibrato, but if it was some old blues guy playing it who came out of the country blues tradition (rather than Chicago blues), you'd think it was prettty decent playing. Ed and the band are grinding away behind him.
It's the most awesome version of that tune ever. I'd love to see them do 'Stay Frosty', it could be awesome live and a nice change from ICM.THINK LIKE THE WAVESComment

I know! There are 3 or 4 from this guy all in 1080 p. Another guy has another 3 tunes in the same resolution and obviously a nice camera. pretty soon I will have a complete DVD!
At the end of Jeff's Blood and Fire, that's me with the 15-second whistling, lol.
One of my favourite moments from either Jeff's or Brett's video in China Town is my "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH" right after the solo (pause in music) and ed and Wolf do their little jam.sigpicRoth Army CanadaComment
