No way it will be a big seller.

I'd be surprised if it sold more than 250,000.

The three new songs have failed to impress, promotion and media interest in the band is almost nonexistant, and the brothers have pissed off most of their original fan base, many of whom will make a point of boycotting this release.

So you're saying folks that like "on every wall and place my fearsome
name is hung" as well as "there she is in her silken gown, silver light
shining down on her ugly feet" are normal?

That impresses me as some kind of fucking weird subculture or some
        shit.

BTW, I read this fascinating article in Business Weekly about Bed
Bath and Beyond also marketing the disc with their olfactory toilet
        brush line. Fucking mind numbing.

Hey dork. When was the last time a fan base boycotted a CD?? You are the biggest fuck nut on this message board. I make a valid point with facts to support it and you throw up the horse shit response. You are a pussy soldier now drop and give me 1984.

Your post wasn't interesting or funny.

That makes this whole thing sad.
                you'll see.
Because this package has all the songs the casual fan wants to hear plus 5 they don't.
The Dave hype turned out one great song and one crappy song.
The Sammy hype turned out one great song and 2 crappy songs.
It's not about the hype it's about owning a bunch of hits by a single band housed in a slick package that I can throw in my car.
These 2 CD best of packages are huge and almost every major act has released one in the past 2 years from The Stones to REO Speedwagon.

One more thing although I feel this Package of hits will sell i feel that miilions of units will be lost by not doing the following things:

                  A) Disc one should be all Dave and include 2 or 3 live Dave tracks.
                  B) Disc two should be all Sammy with zero live tracks as sammy just doesn't sing DLR stuff that well especially "Jump" what were they thinking.
                  C) Disc two should also include "Without You" that song rocks and Gary deserves to be given his due in VH history even though it was short lived and only produced a few great tunes.

Theres nothing new on this CD, except 2 crap tunes, and one tune that wouldnt have made the cut on VH3..

Regardless of being interesting or funny, it managed 3 complete

The Van Halen reunion in '96 featured 2 great tracks and cheers from across the globe, including the MTV Video Music Awards, with a minimum of effort.

The Van Hagar reunion in '04 features 3 shite tracks and a tour that averages 7,068 fans per show with maximum effort.

You and I won't buy it but...this thing will appeal to fat housewives, unemployed mill workers, guys on disability, creepy fuckers who live in their mom's basement, stay at home envelope stuffers and malcontents who feed their fish with tube worms and man milk.

Half a million is fair but if they aggressively advertise it will easily hit the 1 mil mark.

Mezro...but I don't want it to...I want it to fail....

Agreed. They really missed the nut toast on this one.

I'd much rather hear any Tom, Dick or Gary than Van Hagar.

Mezro...if WB really wanted to make crazy money they would have put the 6 pack in an affordible box set and included a live DLR/VH CD...now that would sell...

When a kid hears a Van Halen song on the radio and wants to buy a Best of CD to sample the band...he's going to buy the one with more tracks.
