Holy fuck, Zah! That's fucking hilarious!!! Man, that seems like it was a lifetime ago! :D Your memory worries me though...I have my own "skeletons in the closet" buried deep on this board, lol.

I reported her to Youtube and just ignored the post. But now that you mention it, she does have a somewhat Fab posting style.

Gene Simmons is guilty of one thing - he believes in selling the fans whatever the fuck they want. Period. We should all wish that Ed would wake up one day and decide he'd sell all of the old footage that he's holding on to - supposedly. And you know what? A room full of tapes is a far cry from a room full of VHS tapes. I'm just saying...

Oh, oh...we've said that name twice in this thread. Nobody say it again, she's like Beetlejuice

I actually can't believe she's gone this long without an alias attempt.

Yep. Ed could follow either the Jimmy Page model, where you clean it up and remaster it, or the KISS model, where it's really not any better than the bootlegs, but he's gonna charge you full price anyway (the KISSology boxes).

Either one would sell faster than snow cones in Hell!

I think Wolfie will eventually follow the Jimmy Page example and clean up all that tasty footage before selling it.

I doubt Eddie will ever release the complete '81 Oakland show and other gems because he's always had a weird vibe about it --- like it doesn't meet his standards for live performances.

That's the last thing that should ever happen.

I'm totally fine with Wolfie's present role in the band. He's proven himself on the album and the current tour. But that doesn't qualify him to be the guardian of the archives that were recorded before he was born.

Nobody asked Julian Lennon to produce the Beatles Anthology albums (though he couldn't have possibly butchered "Free As A Bird" any worse than Jeff Lynne did)

Wolfie is going to inherit the Van Halen estate --- I seriously doubt Ed is gonna leave control of those affairs to Janie.

Put it all together --- it's the year 2031 --- Eddie, Alex, and Dave are dead or have Alzheimer's --- Wolfie is 40 yrs. old --- and all those tapes are sitting there collecting dust as usual. What's he gonna do?

No reason to let it decompose into oblivion --- clean it up professionally and preserve it forever on Super 100K HD or whatever format is available in 2031. It's going to happen.

2031. I wonder if we will have the flying cars by then? Maybe after we exile the current ruling class to Antarctica.

Spot on. Gene always saw KISS as a brand instead of just a band. He was the guy who really started merchandising in rock and roll and KISS pioneered the big stage show. KISS took it further. In my opinion every original member of that band is a rock and roll legend. They really were unique.

No, I'm pretty sure Colonel Tom Parker and Brian Epstein had that game down before Chaim changed his name the first time (to Eugene Klein)

Though I guess Chaim might have been the first band member to whore out his band to every kind of merchandising possible. At least Elvis and The Beatles had the managers to blame.
