Though I guess Chaim might have been the first band member to whore out his band to every kind of merchandising possible. At least Elvis and The Beatles had the managers to blame.

The thing about KISS is they were so over the top. A lot of bands have tried to copy that and have failed. Doing what they did in the early 70's was really pioneering. Chaim was a big element in that. It was just the right combination of guys. Ace might have been the silly drunk but man, he had some great riffs. For whatever reason it worked.

If the guy didn't have money he would be one miserable SOB because that's the engine that runs his world. He knows it. It's that sense of power that get's him off. Some people get their fix with drink or drugs. Gene gets his fix with money and that is what gets the chicks he likes to bangs. Without the money he wouldn't have those kind of chicks and the guy would be fucking miserable.
