I was about to say the same thing...

if anything...VH would open for the Police...

They got together for an interview...I think...with Revolver in 2000...

    the interview was hilarious...

after a few minutes...they were bickering and arguing...acting a lot like they did the last few years...

but that's what made them great...

Copeland said, "Reunion? Maybe if Sting weren't making so much money by himself. He'd be stupid to do a reunion gig."

    he's right...

    but I can only hope...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

I have that issue of Revolver. When i first read it i thought the interview was phony. I couldnt believe they had gotten all three of them in a room together.

It would definitely be a reunion show worth going to, even if new material weren't forthcoming.

The Police would make serious bank all over the world.

My only concern would be Copeland's age. I mean, that guy was a fuckin' MONSTER drummer with the Police, but that was almost a quarter century ago...he may need some serious doses of Viagra to get it up to speed...the last thing I heard of him doing, drum-wise, was getting ready to tour with the Doors 21st century, but then he broke his leg or some shit...

Has anyone heard him play recently?

Andy Summers is older than both Sting and Copeland...Summers will be 64 on New Year's Eve. Sting's 55, Copeland 54.

I agree...it would be huge...but they better fucking hurry up...

Of course, Andy Summers wasn't their first guitarist.

In 1977...they had another guitarist, Henry Padovani.

They started as a three piece in 1977, with Padovani as lead guitarist. Summers joined them later in the year as lead, and Padovani stayed on as rhythm guitarist.

This year, he put out a French speaking album, that Copeland and Sting performed on.

I don't think they had performed together since 1977. 30 fucking years. So if Summers kicks the bucket, don't worry. Padovani is only 54...

I've not listened to the song, but it's called 'Welcome Back.'

it's on his website, I think...

I didn't know this before. Thanks for sharing this.

When I listen to the song...I understand why Sting wrote the hits. Perhaps this guy brought them the reggae influence to counter Sting's jazz bullshit. I always dug the Copeland ones better, but the radio friendly songs were all Sting's...mostly.

Their band was one fueled by inner turmoil. It spilled out into their performances and recordings.

I highly recommend "Klark Kent" to any of you Police fans. It was music that wasn't going to see the light of day as The Poiice. Andy and Stewart goofed on Sting by wearing his trademark sweater for the liner pics. I have n original pressing...of green vinyl...Kryptonite label...ya!

I liked the Police up until after the Zenyatta Mondatta album, thought they softened up...and always thought that Sting had an ego even bigger than EVH
