You don't know what you're talking about really. And as if Britain isn't a class based society. You can also kid yourself into thinking this is a first world country. Compared to some middle eastern cities this would be a second world country.
And one day India along with China are going to be one of the countries to militarise space so you better start thinking about dealing with that. Wait, Scotland doesn't have a space program does it? It would have been interesting to see what Scotland would have done about the banking crisis if it were independent. Basically it's got oil off Aberdeen and that's about it.
Or did I get that the wrong way around...?Comment

And you would be surprised how many people are returning to India in recent times. A year or so back the owner of Kingfisher airlines went to Dubai to recruit aircraft engineers and others and within less than a month enough people quit Emirates to take up jobs back home because they were far better paying. A lot of IT people also get real good salaries.Last edited by Andy Taylor; 04-02-2009, 07:54 AM.Comment

I have nothing against Indians, Andy....I think most of them are great people...you have a few jackasses just like every other culture on the planet.(like you :D) But if it's a great place to bring up a family, why do so many of you leave?
For God sakes, don't get me started on the Scots!!Comment

Yeah but the Scots thing is just people getting fed up with the rain and when the rest of the world turns into a desert in 30 years it's going to be a busy place.Comment

To be fair this isn't a 'Free Willy' situation.
The filmmakers set up scholarships and trust funds to take them through to adulthood and made sure all the kids got a proper education.
At which point they will no doubt leave India and come to a first world country and work as doctors.
They did all this even before the film was a big success.Comment

Because it's a poor country and will be for a long time to come if not forever. But that doesn't mean a poor country is third world in every aspect.
Most Indians nowadays are assholes. I'm one of the few good ones.Comment

Question though is to what do many Euro countries including Scotland owe their status? Why such an unfair currency exchange rate other than a couple of Euro banksters deciding how things should be. I can't think of anything Portugal or for that matter Romania, not to forget Scotland does to grant them first or near first world status.
I've seen poverty in Scotland first hand and it wasn't pretty. And to think it's only getting worse.Comment
