Which brings up the point....paying for services rendered. All the rhetoric about lowering taxes and making government smaller, is just talk. The Republicans increased government and created huge deficits and The Democrats have continued on the same path.

But having said that........if we have government services, we have to pay for them. Thinking we can have everything and not pay for it is just plain stupid. Our taxes will go up at some point because we have two wars to pay for and owe the Communists trillions of dollars that they'll want back at some point.

In theory covering everyone's health insurance should help the poor, middle class and the backbone of our economy, small businesses but the bill we are looking to pass isn't even close to helping those people.

It's a shame such a necessary and good idea gets ruined so a political party can win in the mid-terms.

Find what works and stick with it.

There's parts of the US system that do work. There's parts of the Canadian/Western Europe model that do work.

Take the best of each and create a plan from there, thats the way it should be.

Also, the call of the founding fathers is a bit of a BS thing, different time and place. Many of them never figured that we as a country would be nothing but a country based on agriculture with the exception of James Madison who believed in the Industrial revolution. Not saying that what they've done in terms of writing one of the most influential political documents of our times isn't less important. I'm simply saying, that it's assinine to say that they wouldn't have agreed with some form of healthcare reform.

I do think they would be disgusted with tht way that the politic process has been perverted by the current political parties though.

Where in the fuck are you getting this "Blanket Amnesty" from? Many illegals who live and work legitimate jobs here can't get health insurance for shit simply because they are here...illegally. Most qualify for it under 37-hour plus work weeks (paying taxes that go into the system) but will never receive it much less any sort of government regulated health care apart from a life-threatening issue.
