I don't know the local politics of it but it seems to me that it's shameful that after 10 years Ground Zero still hasn't been developed and remains a monument to the Islamic extremist criminals.

Actually it's in full-fledged construction mode right now. The "Freedom Tower" or whatever it's called is now about 60 stories tall and growing. I agree that it took them long enough, but work is well underway.
