Declaring war is a ludicrously outdated concept.

Not for things that happen on British soil, but for matters which the British government pursue outside the UK then yes international law applies.

That is insane...letting others in other countries, particularly the old men power-broker politicians, determine your laws, political policy, and even your very way of life.

I'm so glad most Americans, both liberals and conservatives, are opposed to this.

I'm not following this. How can Americans be opposed to the UN's "old men power-broker politicians" determining "laws, political policy, and even your very way of life" when the exact same words define the U.S. system of government in the first place?

so, are we all still going with the 'we went in there with months of intel and launched a highly rehearsed covert kill mission in some top secret helicopters. then took some blurry photos of blood and shit, bagged him up and dumped it in the sea' scenario?

In reality you're delusional. I doubt many people in the US (outside of the idiot bible belt, midwest, and your house) have that fucked up superiority complex about the US. Betting the vast majority think cooperation with the international community is the best course of action. You make it sound like you believe the US Constitution is infallible much the same way you idiotically believe the bible is. You're wrong (as usual) on both counts.

However, in the case of Bin Laden, if the Pakistani gov't was helping him, and was aware of his presence there (and I don't see how they couldn't have been) - FUCK THEM. Obama said if they were unable or unwilling to hand him over, we'd get him ourselves, and that's exactly what he DID.

I like how Repukes are still trying to push this "soft on defense" crap the entire world knows is bullshit now..Obama even said "Make sure we go in there with enough firepower to SHOOT OUR WAY OUT if the Pakistani gov't gets involved." Sounds like a reeeeal softie, huh?

I want more proof. Basically we have a government that lies it's ass off all the time saying trust us on this. Sorry but I want as much proof as they can get.

Watch. They will just use this whole Bin Laden thing as an excuse for more war. In the last ten years other than the 9/11 attack itself most of the damage in our lives has been from the government, and the corporations and banks who have bought it. That is who has brought the misery into our lives, not people in the middle east. They seem to be more concerned at groping children at the airport than actually keeping the borders secure. It's pretty obvious the powers that be don't give a shit about us, they just care about excuses to play their geopolitical games and making money off all these wars. Every war since WWII has been a war about money. Period.

Who gives a fuck about Bin Laden. It doesn't change a damn thing.

If the world community really wants to do something about it then let them pay for more of it and get more of their children killed. I'm tired of the US military being the so called policeman of the world. I think it's time the world policed itself and we spend our resources here.

The League of Nations failed and the United Nations is a failure because of all the corruption inside of it. It serves multinational corporate interests and not people. Also the IMF and World Bank has screwed people over more than they have helped. It's all about getting countries into debt, letting them default, and then stealing resources. That is what it really is about and now it's happening to the big western nations. It's also interesting when UN heavy weights get in trouble they hide out in China. It's like a deal has been made with the Chinese and the US and look who's benefiting the most in the world. China. Yes they work hard and yes they are smart but a lot has just been given to them.
