I used to drink Lowenbrau back in the 90s, don't see it here very often any more. Estrella I drink quite a often as it's on draft in a pub I go to. I didn't know you could get Hoegaarden in the US, it's usually expensive - a wheat beer. Leffe and Michelob are fine too. Stella Artois is sometimes darkly called 'Wife Beater' here due to it being strong and often pretty cheap.

Mmmm...some of that may well be true, but you'd be surprised how many of those trailer park people have NO hope of any president - including Trump - changing their lives: more of them than you might believe KNOW they are fucked and know that Trump doesn't care for them outside their votes, but Trump speaks to their concerns, gives them an entertaining show to watch and drives liberals crazy merely by being a troll that lives rent-free in their heads. Legalizing same sex civil unions would have given all the legal benefits of marriage without the controversy. This was suggested but people love to poke the bear. So now we have a more divided society that our enemies are exploiting.

When it comes to the law and legal freedoms, there is no such thing as compromising. The fact of the matter is: RELIGIONS DO NOT OWN THE CONCEPT OF MARRIAGE.

So if churches do not like gay people getting married, DON'T ALLOW THEM TO DO SO IN YOUR CHURCHES. Funny thing is, this is the same ridiculous argument that was made 20 years ago. It didn't work then...and it sure doesn't work now.

You can keep whatever your take on marriage is in YOUR CHURCH. You cannot take your religion and dictate to the government what constitutes marriage.

Some people view marriage as a religious ordinance and not just a legal procedure.

I don't believe the government has the right to tell different religions what sorts of ceremonies they must perform. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, churches CANNOT take traditions in their religion (or modern interpretations of said traditions) and impose them on legal rights.

We now (as of 2021 data) live in a country in which approximately 3 out of 10 Americans (myself included) have no religious affiliation. WE are not willing to COMPROMISE with those of religious affiliation who DO NOT recognize gay marriage by saying, "Hey, gay people...I know you want to be married too. But it's really making those who believe in Jesus but also believe in intolerance of homosexuality upset. SO, why don't you just call it a civil union to keep the bigots happy?"

No. You know why? Because you can worship a blade of grass if you want to. It's none of my business. But you can't dictate the law based on what you believe said blade of grass represents.

No, outside of a few far-right gays willing to appease the insecurities of bigoted Republicans, they wanted marriage and didn't want to settle for "civil unions" to appease a group of bigots who don't think they deserve the same rights and protections as straight Americans. And as of 2023, more than 70% of Americans (among them straight, LGTBQ+ and a great deal of Christians) AGREE WITH THEM.

Instead of getting that someone takes it to where it’s going to cause maximum agitation.

The great majority of us are concerned with the Constitution and all Americans being protected by it. We really don't give a shit if it "agitates" less than 30% of the population.
