If you break down the
collective sentiment regarding the brilliant initial post, one thing is painfully obvious. The van hagar brand is intollerable to the point of forgetting the point.
The lack of conflict is creating conflict so deep you need a yacht to sail around in it.
There is one simple reason for the continual disgust and disillusionment regarding David Lee Roth rejoining Van Halen.
You know what it is?
It's the absence of David Lee Roth in Van Halen.
Wade through the fucking irony...that's what we're all doing.
Conflict and irony go hand in hand, and separation is devastation.
It's ironic how the absence of conflict has spawned nauseating music as well as intercontinental backlash regarding it.
Make no mistake, there's only one way to say goodbye as far as the Van Halen legacy goes.
Let's hope for one last dose of the conflict that makes the ironic sound like we all remember it.Comment

This thread should be titled "No other options left for VH than DLR"...they thing you hate the most you always end up needing...Diamond City boys.
What's funny is that "washed up" Dave has the most options. As his legend has been neglected, it has also been protected by not associating with this circus.
People always say it's Vegas for Dave and maybe so. But his skills are in the live crowd and audio/visual realms. I think Dave could do his own "fest" similar to Ozzfest. Ozzy has been able to become a godfather to some of the new bands (some of which TRULY blow), take it easier on himself, make more money (thank you sharon) and raise his profile with a whole generation of new kids. Dave could do that I think even better as his attitude, vibe and expertise in this realm are exactly what the world needs : Rock n Roll...REAL rock n roll. The all day events featuring Dave themed things : Martial artists, BBQ's, roving chicks, video screens etc....all creating a "mojo dojo" envoirnment for a day. I know we all want one more Classic tour. But another real Van Halen album would be fucking cool consolation. Ed could get drunk and not have to display himself publicly each night.
