ive seen van halen in 1981 (fair warning tour ) 1982(diver down tour) 1984 tour ,and aint nothing gonna be better than seeing van halen in thier prime wich i did . im happy with that . when ever a band is past thier prime ,youve missed the chance ... oh well ,go see britney spears shes still in her prime ,and you can tell your grandkids .

The word here is CONTROL.
Ed and Al don't want to split that control up with Dave. They don't want Dave giving the OK for T-shirt designs, stage show designs, etc.
But they HAVE TO. Obviously because Dave is just better at it.
Ed and Al should just concentrate on the music, rehearsing, etc.
Let Dave and some others do all the marketing shit.
And then all the chips will fall into place.

I agree VV, on part. There are hurdles, no doubt, but I disagree that Dave wants or needs total control. I think he just wants to have a VOICE in the decisions,25% if you will, and do whats best for the band. HE is the ONLY member of VAN HALEN that still actually cares about their legacy.
