"Van Halen‘s long awaited new studio album is completely finished and expected to hit stories in February of 2012, according to an inside source. The new record, the band’s first since 1998′s ‘III,’ and first with original lead singer David Lee Roth since 1984′s ’1984,’ has been the source of much speculation over the past few months.
No title or tracklist has been revealed for the new album yet, which is described, similarly as by other people who have heard it, as a modern-day revisiting of the classic Van Halen sound. The source said a record company had yet to be chosen, with two unnamed major labels reportedly bidding for the right to work with the band."

This thread has aged about as well as a Hagar fart in an un-airconditioned room. Seriously, it is so tiresome that it takes years off of my life everytime i check for updates. I think i pull up the current page, read for a minute, blackout and then wake up several hours later. Jeez...if playing with myself waiting for something to happen was an artform, i would be freakin Picasso by now. I'm even making up knock knock jokes. Here's one....knock knock. Who's there? Brilliant. But surely a reminder that not only are we all becoming more decrepit with the passing years, but THEY are, too, man.

Consider the medical / aging dilemmas this band have faced in recent years:

1. A hip replacement
2. New dentures that make the wearer seem like he has borrowed someone else's mouth
3. Neck permanently in a brace, but no booze allowed
4. Cancer
5. Apparent full body wax ( a different kind of sign of aging)
6. Former hell-raiser becomes 'ordained minister'
7. Band member claims to have cured cancer when he should be making rock'n'roll

Of course, these signs of aging are somewhat mitigated by some visible signs of youth - namely, Wolfgang's unfortunate acne outbreak while on tour and under the gaze of thousands. Or would that just be 'ugh' in both directions ...

A good move that. Proof, if needed, that they are not past it yet.
