It has to be a good sign if Dave got his way on the record deal for 2 reasons.

Firstly he is at least 60 IQ points smarter than the Van Halen's so it will be a better deal but more importantly for us it also it means he maybe isn't just a hired gun as some fear which would imply he has had input on the music beyond that he had on the two Hagaresque songs he sang on the BOVH1.

The omens are good. VHND are reporting that the pic was taken at The Roxy, a stone's throw from where they first landed on the Strip at Gazzarri's almost 38 years ago - man, what has changed in that time ...

The Desk had been receiving reports from Monday this week that VH equipment was being moved into the venue to shoot a video.

And, yes, Jeff says - fake palm trees, direct from Dave's house.

Interesting to note the identity of the photographer at the end of the story - Robert Yager. This also suggests that Dave is involved in getting the publicity engine moving - Yager was the guy Dave hired to document the tour in 2007-08. He has a gallery of his pics from that time here:
