All-Encompassing Van Halen New Album / Interscope Thread

Funny you'd say that, as about three days ago I was speaking with a guy and we both agreed that the best of those "Hitler In The Bunker" videos that were all the rage a while back was the Hitler Hates Creed version. What a classic, with so many memorable lines like "When Soundgarden played "Rusty Cage" at Lollapalooza, I came in my pants!" Probably the best line however, concerned Tremonti, when one of Hitler's aides defends Creed by mentioning the guitarist's composing skills: "Are you kidding? A junior high school kid could have written those riffs!"

I hate to get my hopes up, but this is like what? the third or fourth person in the business who has gone on record to say they have heard new van halen music and it sounds amazing... Dweezil, John 5, Scott Ian... correct me if I'm wrong.

I was thinking the same thing. Why is it these accounts are always so poorly worded, so it is never clear as to just what was heard and how these people heard it? This latest version gives the impression the Van Halen family set up and performed a private concert for Tremonti. Just once I'd like one of these guys would say "Ed handed me a finished CD that featured the artwork and everything..." instead of "I heard some tracks..". To this day, we have no idea if Zappa (probably the most credible witness out of all of them) and Edward handed a guitar back and forth with Ed saying "Oh, this is new." rather than playing Zappa any recorded tracks.

In all of these apparent hearing, I don,t recall anyone saying a word about Dave or any vocals.

I wont believe that DLR is on it untill I hear it with my own ears....

Apparently they have recorded all the music at one studio and then sent it to Roth to come up with the vocal melodies and lyrics and then record them at another.

I guess then they get sent back for approval from Ed.

It's not an ideal way to do things and Roth would need to be at the top of his game to turn the music into great songs.

Still better than having to do it to order at 5150 in a separate room I suppose.

Fine. The three Van Halens can wank off in Eddie's studio together and make some what some say is decent music. The problem is they don't seem to get along with people in the band who's last name isn't Van Halen and they do nothing for the fans. Nothing. They could care less. They are studio wankers in their own little world and without a good manager and a good lead singer, they really are nothing. The Van Halens would have never become famous without Roth. They don't get show business or fan relationships at all. If these jokers are driving the train, I'm not expecting much from them.
