    Zapruder on.

And at about :45 for the next ten seconds you see the exchange from Ed and Dave that makes me think they are actually making the album work.
The exchange between Ed and Dave is what it's always rested on really. Not to diminish the chemistry of the original four, but the Eddie and Dave combination will be enough for a strong, if not great, album.

And I would think that over the last couple of years, the Wolf has become a more accomplished and confident player. He was so young on that tour!

There is just enough doubt lingering on both sides of the equation.

Equally puzzling are the remarks made by those that attended the shows. For every 5 folks that swear the kid was doing his own stunts, there is another 5 saying this wasn't the case. To be honest, at this point I don't even care. If this version of the band comes to my town peddling something more than nostalgia, then I might just go. Otherwise at this late stage of the game, aside from those that never had the opportunity to see a Roth-fronted VH, what would be the point?
Chef - I fit into the 'never seen Roth-fronted VH' category, as do so many others in Australia. So I'd even settle for another nostalgia tour, as long as they come here!

That's what I mean. Having seen the original unit several times the first time through in the late seventies/early eighties, I really do not need a "recreation" of that. However, if they are playing new material...

That's the only way I'll see VH......if they have new material or a "real" reunion.

I was 13 when they came through San Diego in 1984. My first concert wasn't allowed until later when Motley Crue did Theater Of Pain with Loudness opening. My first Van Halen show was 5150. So yes, I am fiending like a truck stop whore to see ANY Dave & Eddie together. The one time in 2007 was not enough for me. Man, I had such a fucking good time at the 2007 show. Felt like a drug and I want that again.

But I understand you guys who are either a little older than me or had more generous parents that let you see shows (or you were better at sneaking out). I don't fault you guys for holding out for a true reunion with MA, or only wanting the nostalgia run once. But having never seen Dave & Eddie on the stage together until 2007....man, what a long fucking wait to see those 2 for the first time. So happy they did it.

I used to say that I couldn't die until I saw Dave & Eddie together, and The Police live. Man, was I fucking watching over my shoulder for months after 2007.

I had never seen The Police either....and that show at Dodger Stadium was epic as well. 2007 was a good year for old Sadie.

Anyways, here's hoping & crossing all my fingers and toes that we get a full length album of all new music that kicks ass & surprises everyone. And a world tour with a few stops down under for our mates.

I am in the same boat. I was old enough but religious upbringing so I missed em. Saw Eddie on 5150 and Dave on Eat 'em and Smile. Skipped on '07 due to life requirements. This one will finally be my one. I want a new album. I want to see Dave and Eddie on the stage for the first time in my life. And I want to hear a song I have never heard live before.

                Thank you.

This is what I have been saying all along. There is absolutely NO REASON for folks such as myself (who had the privilege of seeing the original band) to belittle folks (who did not) for enjoying these shows with a reunited David Lee Roth and Edward Van Halen. Yeah great, we saw the first incarnation, and have issues with what is now being presented. Ho-hum.

The fact is, the only reason we had the honor of seeing that group in the first place was because of the random accident of birth. Seriously, if not for a joint or a beer or two amongst our parents and how the stars all aligned, we might have grown up just in time to be Bon Jovi, or worse yet, Poison fans.

And if these guys are gonna tour again, swell. Yet it would really be a bonus if they made it worthwhile to their entire fan base: Not just the young or old wishing to revisit old times, but to that small percentage of both groups that still have a bit of faith in them pulling a rabbit out of the hat at this advanced age.

Yep - totally understand why you and others want either a true CVH reunion or new material, particularly with the $ they want to see them now. If I had seen them in their prime, I would probably feel the same.

I had the luck of timing, in terms of being in high school during the late 70s and early 80s, to have understood what CVH was about and become a fan, but in this respect, not the luck of geography.

I totally know what you're saying, man... I was fortunate enough to catch show #1 and it was mind blowing to see Dave & Eddie on stage together! Surreal even... I can't wait to do it all over again, hopefully, soon in 2011!

It was the greatest, having CVH in full swing during my high school years. They destroyed everything in music that was around at the time. CVH still does!

LOL! I seriously disagree with that radical statement. The only reason most 80's hair bands were even tolerated in the first place was because they were lifting bits and pieces of Van Halen, in music as well as attitude.
Van Halen set the standard for rock in the 80's. You either incorporated some of what they had going on into your own thing, or you simply got the fuck out of the way.

Had it not been for Classic Van Halen, I would've chosen an entirely different style of music as my primary preference.
