All-Encompassing Van Halen New Album / Interscope Thread
Ed McMahon: "The sound of one hand clapping, a tree falling in the woods when no one is around, and unfounded, purely speculative rumors about Van Halen."
Carnac the Magnificent: "Name three things that only the nitwit Andrew at melodicrock can hear."
I keep hearing from various artists that the recording industry right now is pretty much going down the tubes. It used to be the record label would put up the money to go on tour. You have to have the money to go out so you can make it back. It's hard as shit to get any loans from the banks right now. So what bands are having to do it get corporate sponsors. Stages are going to have advertising on them and rock stars may start looking like race car drivers. Instead of a Jack Daniel's bass there might be a Pepsi or Coke bass.
Van Halen very well could be delayed because they can't get the upfront money to tour with. A very common problem right now.
"Instead of a Jack Daniel's bass there might be a Pepsi or Coke bass." ... which is slightly better than a Taco Bell bass. Or put Wolfie in a Ronald McDonald suit and they're fully financed. I would think judging from how much their last tour grossed, they wouldn't have trouble finding backers for this one, especially with new music.
Why does anyone fucking post shit or even visit that site, or any other fucking site that uses MelodiCROCK as any sort of news source. Christ, that place was a joke 11 years ago...I'm surprised it's still there.
By the way, I've spoken to my sources, and there's a HUGE announcement coming involving Van Halen, Andrew Ridgeley, Howard Jones and Boy George.
Wait...it's been cancelled.
Give me a fucking break....
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."
Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!
Melodicrock is in dangerous territory with this latest headline. Claiming the tour was cancelled when clearly the band had not put pen to paper is irresponsible. I'm sure representatives of Van Halen were talking with European promoters about possible dates, but obviously it never reached the point of signing contracts. And unless I missed it, the VHND has not reported anything about Van Halen touring Europe, and they are a far more reliable source for VH news than Melodicrock.
I'll say it again, Andrew's sources are firmly in the Sammy Hagar camp - he has little idea about what's going on with the band now.

You could be right - particularly considering the economic mess the US and Europe are in. This must have a flow on effect for the music biz and this could be a reason for delaying the album and tour.
