Aproaching Thriller? Not even fucking close my friend. Thriller has sold 110 MILLION copies worldwide. She ain't a pimple on Thriller's ass yet.

17 million albums sold in its first year is indeed approaching Thriller's sales during the same time frame.

It took Thriller an additional 28 years to reach 110 million copies sold worldwide.

I would even argue that Adele's sales of "21" are even more impressive than those of "Thriller" during its first year based on the fact that the music industry has changed drastically since 1983. People just don't buy albums like they used to. Free Internet downloads weren't available back in 1983-84.

Whether you like her music or not, you've got to give her credit. She's released two albums and both have sold beyond anyone's imagination.

I bet Adele doesn't have a doorbell sign that says, "Bring it, or don't ring it!"

Man, talk about bad timing. So this is the only chance to go #1 ? Do the sales always drop after the crest ?

They need to release another single. I don't even listen to Tattoo anymore, so

it's probably not driving sales that much. A new single on the radio would help.

'You and Your Blues' is really growing on me - even the naysayers who have been crying, 'it's not Van Halen - where are Mike's backing vocals' would be saying, 'er, Mike who?!'

Agreed, and the sooner the better.

I'd also be happy with Big River, The Trouble with Never.....well almost anything to be honest.

                        Just do it now.

I don't get all the Tattoo complaints. I think it's a great first single: quick-pleasing, fun, and straight to the point. I was smiling with glee as the riff and mega-groove hit me hard, hearing it for the first time, cranked in my car. Dave kills it in the verse, and in the chorus especially, and it's a monster riff and solo from Eddie. (Also love the hints of And The Cradle... and Hear About It Later in the guitar leads and vocal lines.)

Dunno, I don't hate it, I just like EVERYTHING else that much more.

I love 'Tattoo' as well, and I don't get where all the lame-o opinions on it out there are comin' from. It's not the hardest / heaviest tune on the album, but it's just a damn good song.

We all know that by this time (Grammy time) next year that ADKOT will have gone double platinum, the tour will be somewhere in australia or germany or some shit, and Van Halen will win 10 or so fucking awards.

I'm happy for Adele and all the other award winners - happy for them because they're lucky this album didn't come out six months ago. If it had, no one would have been going home with shit except =VH=. Dave's sheep dog would have been best new artist.
