Thank you, it's a bit dated obviously (I just started posting again after a long hiatus because of ADKOT) but I guess I'll keep it for awhile if it still tickles someones funnybone.
The week’s most popular albums as compiled by Luminate, based on multi-metric consumption (blending traditional album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming equivalent albums).
Van Halen's "A Different Kind of Truth" arrives in the No. 2 position with 187,000.
Van Halen's set is the band's 14th consecutive top 10 album -- stretching back to 1979's "Van Halen II," which topped out at No. 6. The only release in the veteran act's catalog that missed the top 10 was its self-titled 1978 debut, which peaked at No. 19. The group's last studio record, 1998's "Van Halen 3" (with Gary Cherone on lead vocals), debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 191,000 in its first week.

Only if you never read the rest of posts in this thread today...
I just dont understand how this cd only sold 187,000 units, VH3 sold more in the first week, the weekest VH album ever, this cd is one of VH best, theres no doubt in my mind this cd should have sold 250,000 plus in the first week, this tour is sold out everywhere in the us, people are spending a 100 dollars plus on a ticket, but cant shove out 10 bucks for a cd, i dont get it, VH fans need to get off there ass and buy this shit and stop downloading it. but anyway i just needed to rant, now go buy this shit

Please don't go Hagar on this... the tour has not sold out everywhere in the US. Only 12 stops have sold out VIP tickets. All the rest still show tickets available, many single seats only. But still not sold out.

It's pretty simple: people don't buy as many albums as they used to. If it were 1998, when VH3 came out, ADKOT would have sold 300,000 albums. The game has changed, so those kinds of comparisons aren't realistic.
