Dave took a bit of shit back in '84 for all the "costume" changes, sword routine, and such. I am glad Al's solo is short and to the point. I'd love to see them eliminate it, but he has earned his time. I just look at it like they could replace that solo with another song, like "Stay Frosty". It would probably be an unpopular decision, but I'd even be willing to give up Ed's solo for more songs. A lot of the stuff he plays during his solo is from some great songs. Just do the full intro, or whatever, and do the whole song. If they need a break, lengthen the set, and take a 15 minute or so intermission half way through. The last half of the show could be the "encore"!
ALMOST 2 hours. Saw Foo Fighters last fall and they did 2:45. I know they're young but it really made it memorable. Saw Rush last April they did 2:50 with a 15 min intermission.
Getty said since they were so old they needed to take a break. Perfect for a piss and a beer run!

There are plenty of places where both of those songs could be laced together without missing a beat, and since they are both essentially "novelty" tunes (for lack of a better term) it would not be jarring.

My disappointments... scheduling and set list. Prior to relocating, the shows in the upper Midwest area were all booked during business schedule conflicts. Now I'm 300-500 miles from the nearest scheduled shows. Adding a leg with either Little Rock or Memphis would float my boat.

As others have mentioned... Stay Frosty needs to be worked in and stay there. I'd also rather hear 2-4 more of the ADKOT tunes rather than some of the older material.

Is it me or does it seem like the pace of the show was established under a heavy dose of Red Bull..? Seems a bit rushed and as the tour progresses it's definitely taking on a mechanical "get in, get it done", rinse and repeat vibe. That's nothing new for VH... but the pace and no breaks between songs just seems a bit slammed...

Your spot on. They need to savor the moment and slow it down.
I wish I could work for 1 hour and 50 minutes a day. Actually since I joined this site, that about how much I actually work.

I guess it's what anybody else charges, but the ticket prices are prohibitive.

I miss the frantic bombastic search light opening to the show. As many may agree, that part was what truly made you feel your mind, body and senses were under attack. The encore without ever leaving the stage is a touch odd, rushed. It does kinda feel like, "let's wrap this fucker up".

ur getting 23-24 songs, but it does seem like they just want to hit and run....dave not interacting at the united center(except to brow beat the staff) which really sucked...a little break between songs would help

Yep, for me the money you pay these days they can play longer. Someone else said I wish I could work 2 hours a day. How true. They are raking in the money every night, and cutting out songs like Mean Streets and a couple great new songs for what ?? Must be to save on Dave's voice a little I guess. Sure it's 23-24 songs but over half of them are 3 minutes long !!! I would think they would play the most popular song on the new CD and over at VH news desk a poll says Stay Frosty is it. I don't hate Tattoo but they could drop that at this point. But whatev... I can't fucking wait to see them. I'm stoked at how good Wolf sounds this time out.
