The No Show Tonight Thread...

Haha. I was having fun in here last night myself! Yeah - the show was pretty bad for me. My husband loved it, but totally got why I didn't. He enjoyed the "musicianship" and said every note was played to perfection. As a guitar player himself, he loved watching John Petrucci. I told him that that's why I hated it. There was no real interaction with the crowd, no spontaneity, no excitement. The total opposite of VH and especially DLR.
I didn't mention it last night but we actually did a VIP meet and greet thing. The guys were very cool and friendly. My husband told the singer that I'm a VH fan and that he 'dragged me' to the show! Guy was cool - broke out into Cradle and said he was a big fan and saw them 'back in the day'. Said they played a show with van hagar and that they were 'totally different' and he wasn't a big fan. Asked me if Dave still had it on this tour and I gave him a definitive 'absolutely!'. Now I just need to get through 2 Steve Vai shows, including a Q & A session with Steve. I assume I can count on all of you to help?!

I can totally understand what your saying about Dream theater. They definitely are a technical band and much better musicians than I will ever be. Just not even close to my type of music. I remember having a buddy years ago who was a guitarist and all he did was RAVE about John petrucci. I definitely get why other musicians, especially other guitarists would like them...and if memory serves me correctly, you said your husband was ripping 'AS IS' not too long ago....so obviously he must know what he's doing on guitar.

Shit, I would love to get together and jam with him sometime. It's rediculous how difficult it is to find time to do anything besides work lately!!! My band, which was never anything more than a cover band anyway, has practically fallen apart as of late because the summer is everyone's busy season. I never had any formal training of any kind and don't have any delusions about how amazing a drummer/lead singer I am, but for shits and gigs I would love to try and get together someday with your hubby for a jam session. I'm not going anywhere as far as this site goes and i'm assuming your not either momshell....so hopefully in the not too distant future everything will fall in line. Matter of fact...now that i remember, I was supposed to pm you a list of boots I have and vice versa so we could possibly do an internet trade thingy....I need a friggin vacation!!!!.....TTYS

There's a shit load of Van halen vids from this tour that I took, some maiden vids from a few weeks ago and some kiss and motorhead vids from a few years back.....the very last video if you scroll all the way down is my band playing a show....the video might be on top today for all I know...can't seem to figure youtube out sometimes....in any event it should read 4th coming live @ lulu's. We play stuff like motley, priest, metallica, acdc, and then some stuff like 3 doors down, and then some hair metal tunes....would love to branch out and play other things... let me warn you before hand...one of our guitarists is real good....one of em isn't.....lol....rhythm wise he's fine, but he thinks he's randy rhoads and he can't solo for shit. I'm on drums and doing all the lead vocals....let me know wut u think....if we suck we suck...if not cool!!!

Will definitely check it out when kids go to bed. We need sniper to move to LI and then the three of you could start a band. You'd have two groupies to start with for sure!! Seriously though we should figure out a way for you and hubby to jam. That would be cool. Once again I love this place!!

Hey fourth - I think you guys sound great - like your voice! Especially liked that you did Beasties Let me know when and where you guys are playing and we'll come see you. Okay so I'm looking at my own videos from New Orleans tonight on the big screen. Look great. If I can transfer these to DVD and give to a few folks should I tag in some way? I have various bootlegs where there is some kind of ticker that goes across at some point indicating "trade" or who filmed and shit.... The vids look fucking great on the tube.
