You know my answer to that...I wanted the show anyway they gave it now .....AND I'lll take the change up later too
Serious question. Would you guys rather have the same exact setlist for 40 more shows or this? I'd honestly rather have this. The threads got a lot less fun when they stopped rotating songs in and out and the surprises like Hang 'em High were over. I do feel really bad for people who didn't get to see them this year and were banking on the second leg. And the Cleveland show would have been awesome in terms of the meetup. But as far as missing show threads, I really don't miss them if the setlists were going to be identical, which I believe they would have been. I can't prove that of course but that's my hunch.Comment

LMAO!!!......holy shite that was funny Momshell. I cant stand that band.....talk about drawn out and boring as all hell.Holy shit. Speaking of boredom. I'm at s Dream Theater show right now. Hubby loves them. Fuck me this is brutal. I'm pretty drunk and still miserable. Not good. I keep thinking about how much these guys suck in comparison to our boys. Please make the next 1 1/2 hours go by quick. Or... Shoot me! Aaaah! I miss Van Halen soooo fuckin much right about now!

Haha. I was having fun in here last night myself! Yeah - the show was pretty bad for me. My husband loved it, but totally got why I didn't. He enjoyed the "musicianship" and said every note was played to perfection. As a guitar player himself, he loved watching John Petrucci. I told him that that's why I hated it. There was no real interaction with the crowd, no spontaneity, no excitement. The total opposite of VH and especially DLR.
I didn't mention it last night but we actually did a VIP meet and greet thing. The guys were very cool and friendly. My husband told the singer that I'm a VH fan and that he 'dragged me' to the show! Guy was cool - broke out into Cradle and said he was a big fan and saw them 'back in the day'. Said they played a show with van hagar and that they were 'totally different' and he wasn't a big fan. Asked me if Dave still had it on this tour and I gave him a definitive 'absolutely!'. Now I just need to get through 2 Steve Vai shows, including a Q & A session with Steve. I assume I can count on all of you to help?!Stay Frosty!

Even though his playing incorporates a bit of wankery I did like Vai on the two Dave albums he played on... However, I despised his sterile approach to the CVH songs live. But hey, at least Dave was actually performing those songs live (and deep cuts I might add) unlike the Spam fronted Van Halen.I like to pay close attention to the things I'll forget later...Comment

I've seen Vai before. He's a cool guy during shows and I gotta give him credit for being an amazing player. I even like a couple of songs. I'm just not a huge fan of 'no words' music. I usually enjoy it at the beginning but get bored after about 30 minutes of it. The rough part is gonna be going to two shows within two weeks. I only do that for one band.
Also trying to think of anything I might want to ask during the Q & A session. I already thought about asking what it was like to work with Dave but I don't think I'll hear anything I haven't already heard him say. Any ideas?Stay Frosty!

Ask him how the departure of Sheehan after the release of "Skyscraper" affected the inner dynamics of the band before the tour started.I like to pay close attention to the things I'll forget later...Comment

I like Vai too, but his music lacks the "hook" or catchy melody. Eddie is the master of the hook and this is the main difference between Ed and Vai as well as Satriani. Ed could have made a living creating jingles. This is also why Chickenshit tunes suck so bad. There is no hook or melody to my ears. Satch had some really catchy tunes as a solo guy, but in the Chicken Coop its really bland.I've seen Vai before. He's a cool guy during shows and I gotta give him credit for being an amazing player.
