I wouldn't get that carried away. It was good though. The guy fucks around too much. He misses his mark a few lines in on Cradle because he is adding some weird yelp for no reason. & he screws up the lines in I'll Wait at the beginning. I agree with Elvis on I'm The One. Not good until about half the song is over. I think his voice is starting to sound like the guy from REO. Have you heard him lately ? Not good. But with Dave it's weird. Some stuff he can sound good on still. He just isn't putting in the grunt work on some of the songs that he should be. Maybe he can't. Maybe he needs surgery or had it and it made him worse. If he is just being lazy that is not cool.

I would argue yes they are in the senior tour at this point but this is a band with awful marketing, and dysfunctional management. That being said they sold 200k their first week.
Black Sabath was pimped for over a year, has its own satelite radio station, one of the better managers at creating PR, etc.... they sold 155K

Van Halen is just as if not more relevant than their peers. As far as live the band is solid and yeas Roth's voice is limited a bit and inconsistent. It was inconsistent live 30 years ago as well. I'm not arguing they are what they once were but they are as much a relevant band as any of their peers to this day. Imagine if they actually did advance promotion or crazy idea as every single fan poll on casual or hardcore sites had Stay Frosty a fav maybe just maybe feature the damn song. Their decisions are mind numbingly bad at times but still relevant.Comment

And remember, the only reason that ADKOT didn't hit number 1 that 1st week was because of the significant grammy push Adele got. If they end up not touring this summer/fall, i seriously hope they hit the studio instead and give us another album in say summer 2014, hopefully with all (or mostly all) new material.Comment

Not necessarily...hey, these guys will never be as good as our memories want them to be. On the other hand at least they are keeping the dream alive....if u close your eyes...it's almost 1984 again. Which is much better than closing your eyes and thinking it's 1986 again...ya know. Shit, I am 42 and if I play golf as well as I do now when I am 58 I may join the champions tour. Which will never happen...thus enjoy "the game" while it can still be played.

Just finished watching the entire Tokyo Show...Kicked TOTAL Ass!! There is no way I could have that kind of stamina for that length of a show...just awesome. I thought Dave sounded great at the Nashville show last year, but he really did a nice job here. You could really feel the electricity of that huge crowd inspiring the band.
