For the sake of the Japanese fans Dave doesn't need to be over there bad mouthing Ed on TV. It seems clear that Ed's ready to park it on the couch permanently but really "enjoyed" getting out and touring with Wolfgang. Who knows if that ship will really leave port again...

I think the concern here is don't give Ed an excuse to pull the plug...

I get that, but I don't think that what he said was bad. He said that they were different and that it makes the chemistry they have. Maybe VHs admit to not having any sense of humor. Maybe it's an intern joke between them. Who knows why he said what he said.

I think it frustrates Dave to see Ed not use his talent to it's full potential. The thing is Ed is falling apart. He has abused his health for years. Getting some new teeth, hip replacements, taking a shower everyday, and dying your hair isn't going to make up for an ocean of alcohol and a plantation full of tobacco. Going on tour is work and Ed doesn't need to work anymore. He wants to stay home and play with his little dog. He played live with Wolf. It was nice. Dream come true. Now Wolf is working with other bands and daddy can retire.
