I agree...but if getting a bunch of people from all over is your goal you need to pick a place where there are lots of flights (more airlines and flights = less expensive flights) and a destination that offers that little something extra.sigpicRoth Army CanadaComment

You're describing San Diego...that would be the place to do it. It would price it out of my range but it would definitely be a good place to have it.American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

Sorry that they cancelled the upcoming shows..... Super Glad I got to see them twice this year, a dream come true!
I wish for the best...They'll be back, ya know.
I think there is a better chance of them continuing to tour later on than there is of Eddie releasing the vaults of all their old concert footage...(Oakland 81, anyone?)I'm Stayin' Frosty!Comment

alright, FUCK CLASSIC ROCK RADIO.
My local rock station was talking some major shit about Van Halen after the cancellations were announced. The DJ called bullshit on the "excuse" that they bit off more than they could chew for the tour. He said that Dave and the Van Halen SISTERS (yes, the asshole called them sisters) Edwina and Alice hate each other. And also said that there will be no refunds for certain venues.
"Wow, are they desperate for money or what?" Quoth the douchebag, (nevermore).
Not only that, they proceeded to play 2 Van HAGAR songs as their way of saying "Fuck You" to Eddie, Alex, Wolfie and Dave. This SAME station a few months ago, played A Different Kind of Truth IN IT'S ENTIRETY when it came out, said that Dave, Alex, Eddie and Wolfie all sound great together and that the tour so far is going A-OK. Now, they have the nerve to stab Van Halen in the back a la Sammy Hagar like this? Hell to the fuck no.
FUCK YOU, 102.3 WBAB

The joke is on the station, and every other terrestrial radio station that plays music. Who the hell listens to that anymore? I don't. I find out about music on the internet and word of mouth anymore. I can totally see terrestrial radio being nothing but talk stations in 20 years.Comment

There was speculation that the postponed now cancelled dates may have something to do with Alex's son, Aric potentially competing in the Olympics in August.
Did a little research and Aric did compete in the US Olympic Track & Field Trials last weekend in Eugene, Or. Couldn't find out where he placed but appears he did not make the US Olympic team heading to London.
Aric was competing in the Olympic classifications leading up to the Trials for the University of Colorado Buffaloes in the 3000m Steeplechase event. He had a personal best and finished 3rd last month in a big track & field event...
Appears Uncle Ed may have been influential in getting major air doing Flying Eddies that prepared young Aric for competition...
