I think Dave's ego is getting the best of him. That planted chick from the audience reeks of Roth style showbizz and it's coming off as cheesy. He ain't foolin anybody.
Ed has got his shit together and is playing like a beast and Dave is subjecting him to this? Bad performance and cheap vaudeville?
I see the possibility of a catastrophic meeting if roth doesn't reign himself in or get reigned in somehow.
The bad vocals are understandable back when he was doing jumps, kicks, trampoline antics etc.etc. but now he is wiggling around the stage like some old gay Broadway choreographer ( the only thing missing is a yellow neck scarf) "all that jazz" anyone?
And the vocal choices he making are bordering on insane.
I'm a Dave supporter but If I wouldnt put up with this , I don't see how Ed is gonna.
The worst thing is I'm starting to see is these horrible vocal runs reocurring in the same sections of the same songs like this is how Dave is singing these parts ON PURPOSE.

I saw on Bart Walshs facebook page someone said(paraphrasing). "Hey Bart, I think Dave needs to rehearse more with the band. He sounds a little loose. Bart replied " oh it IS rehearsed!"
I think Al is loving it because I don't think Al likes Dave at all. Al knows just give Roth enough rope he will hang himself but the fans wanted it and the shows will sell tickets and just let Dave do himself in and then it will end and the Van Halens won't be the bad guys. Al will make the big tour money and sink Roth at the same time. Then Dave will go on Dancing with the Stars next. That's where he really should be.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Yeah I don't get his deal at all. The fucking around is one thing. The complete lack of trying too sing is another. I swear I think every time Wolf starts singing Dave goes into that next register to try's to drown him out. Did he do that to Mike ?? He needs too get it together and fast ! But he won't. I was hoping he was sick in 2012. But it looks like he just got plain lazy. I think he might be done sadly. I get he is 60 but come on. Too good one song then shit the second ? That's laziness straight up.

Maybe Dave gets bored with the songs and just does whatever but yeah he does look out of place. I really don't think Dave gives a shit what anyone thinks ...

An interesting hypothesis. I was actually starting to think the opposite recently. Perhaps they at least have a little bit more in common these days. Have you heard Al's drum solo? From the very danceable, Tito Puente drum patterns to the orchestra hits to the the Copa Cabana styled piano he's playing along with, I got the impression that Dave and Al's musical tastes may be closer now than back in the day.

Yup Dave has heard that and used it for his little dance routine giving Al a chance to show his chops too.

I believe his auto-pilot thinks he's flying an F-18 but his vocal cords are rigged for an old Cessna 150...

Dave has always embraced dance VH was engineered to produce the dance beat music that brought women and men together and the occasional threesome if you played the right tracs..lol.....some of you sound so fucking strange.

Dave would do fine on DWTS they only showcase people who would bring in rating increase over last months show Dave has some draw in that respect.

Would I watch, hell no I don't watch that show....or any TV for that matter... I also don't watch ED noodling at NAMM ....things that don't interest me are probably none of my business anyway.

Would Dave do DWTS I doubt it most of those people are wash outs ordered by their studio contracts to do the show to pay off debt.

No, No...No... my man,.. more like a old WWII F4U Corsair as compared to the X-15 he was thru most of his career.

A Cessna would be Bieber and all other little back room boys singing thru the box.

                  Give DLR some credit.

If you are implying DLR had debt I don't believe for one second he has ever been broke.

He has always been thrifty his hobbies are not money spenders.

I believe the Mojo Dojo house was free and clear back in the mid 80...that translates to taxes and utilities only.

He may have jumped over 10 tax brackets since 2006.

before that he probably could only spend 100K per year without touching his principal holdings.

                          Dave frugal..?

You're showing your ignorance and ignoring a lot of obvious facts, Clara...

Who do you think paid the salaries of the horde that Dave hauled around for all those years? Those folks weren't doing charity work on their own dime... every manager, attorney, musician, midget, model, security, actress and whores all got paid for riding Dave's coat-tails...

In recent years DLR band members were paid a weekly retainer and a higher rate when performing. Whoever follows around Dave the last couple of years filming and photographing him earned a paycheck... add to that the folks that edit and produced the Roth Show™ and manage his web site/social media. Even today he's got an assistant who works his business office and manages what few appointments he keeps, travel arrangements, etc...

$100k a year doesn't even come close to keeping all those folks in tow and their rent paid. Add to that income taxes, property taxes, living expenses, travel expenses, a home in California, a loft in NYC, plus where ever he stayed in Tokyo... I'm really surprised Dave hasn't gone bankrupt yet...

I'd figure he needs this record and up-coming tour revenue more than anyone else in Van Halen just to keep his lights on and pool filled...

You don't think he has invested at least some of his money? He's related to a shitload of rich people who aren't rock stars that probably gave him some sound financial advice over the years.

Wrong on every single level all ventures DLR has involved him self in turned enough profit for him to bank some bank or the musicians and all that crap you mentioned would not have taken place. Our reason of being here will never have privy to DLRs monies.

as I said, he has never been broke and wishing it upon him doesn't make it so.
