Ah, most of the people who go have fun. Get relatively close seats. The people who drop a few extra bucks for those are usually there to have a good time.
At the last Charlotte show, this guy was sitting near me and the entire time - from the beginning of the Kool set through the end of Jump, the dude sat there staring at an ipod. I honestly thought the guy was dead a couple times. But he wasn't, he was just sitting there, with his stupid ear buds in staring at his ipod like it was magical. Hey now...nah it couldn't be. Maybe he had Wolfie's Magical Mystery Earbuds and he was in a transcendental state of consciousness!American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

Respectfully, I have to disagree...
I was praying for Diamond David Lee Roth... and I feel that in '07/'08 we got a focused, angry, "out to prove a point", Rock God Attitude Dave...
At the show I saw, and most of the vids online, he is absolutely KILLING it on that tour... and, surprisingly, as compared to the "Back In The Day DLR" he is actually SINGING most of the songs and really making an effort to dominate and claim his rightful place as THE Lead Vocalist of Van Halen... and for all intntents and purposes he absolutely DID IT!!!
Yet for some reason, after that, he started employing this "Cat In A Blender" range to his voice that appears (too much) on ADKOT... not sure if he was compensating for some serious vocal problem, but it appeared... and unfortunately has stayed...
He obviously can sing the songs in the ranges that they were originally written in with the original melodies because he has shown flashes of it on the recent '12/'13 Tour... but he is CHOOSING to sing this way... and personally, as DAVE OR GRAVE as I am... I can't listen to it...
It is just perplexing and sad... and that combined with his progressive change into this weird (er) stage persona with the smile and creepy old man vibe as opposed to the mostly Cool '07/'08 DLR is totally a downer...
I don't long for the "heyday of '78-'84"... I would gladly have liked '07/'08 to just continue...
