That article has nothing to do with him all of a sudden realizing that Bette is a douche.... In fact, if you talk to him face-to-face as I have you'd quickly realize that he's without a doubt pro-DLR.....
But VHND is Jeff's business... Meaning, ALL iterations of Van Halen, including the Bette era....
Is the topic a valid discussion point? Absolutely, which is why I posted that Tweet with the same excerpt from the book a few days ago....
And what will be the result of that article? Not only more discussion for the original EVH Billboard article, but a lot of pageviews for the site and potential customers for the VH merchandise....

Jeff also addressed the decision to drop Sammy solo news from the VHND at VHLinks yesterday, a couple of years ago when Sam was putting out a lot of negative crap about VH leading up to the release of ADKOT. And dude - this is the 37th century - every idiot with a camera and a computer uploads videos of themselves talking about all sorts of shit, apparently including Sammy. Ever heard of youtube? It's slap full of idiots posting reactions to all kinds of shit: videos, movies, concerts, the latest thing some boneheaded politician or movie star said. It ain't a new concept. It's pretty much the same thing WE all do here, except we post it up in written form as opposed to everybody shooting videos and uploading those.
Ooh - maybe that's what could bring message boards back! Instead of typing words, we all upload videos and post those! Flamma says blah blah blah, then Donnie posts up his video of him replying and drankin and smokin and ranting about what Flamma said. Then Flamma posts a really angry response, then Donnie posts up a video of his butt and says suck it. Then Flamma and Donnie post a split screen video of them laughing it off and in between we got videos of Sesh blabbering on in whatever language that is he's still trying to master, then Ford posts up himself reviewing some fag band video from like 1977. And about every third response we get videos of Warf wearin' a wrasslin' mask and jumping up and down and screaming about how he built this place. Yeah, this might work...American by birth. What was it? I was an agenda contrived video by Sammy to take advantage of the situation for his own benefit using Anthony as a excuse to not only slam Van Halen (though it was Eddie who said what he did Sam and not 'those guys') but then get great PR points but defending the helpless little pussy Michael Anthony (sick of all this high road label every time he gets slammed, he is a good bass player and for the love of manhood defend yourself already you wanker), you know his adopted little 'brother' Mikey who still has not learned to stand up ("Stand up, the more you do it, the less you fall down") himself be really taking the high road and just say "it is not true", but noooooooooo he cannot because Edward is partially right and for him to deny it he would have to clarify he did not write any of the stuff and did play what Ed told him to even though Ed did not teach him his craft. Michael might be the most sane guy out of the bunch, but he probably is also not the sharpest pencil in the box and a reason he did not contribute any songs
What did Sam call it? Spammy the good politician looks at the situation and says to himself, "hell, most of these Jimmy Buffet brain dead pot heads believe all the sentimental over the top crap I shovel down to skewed record sales, so...". I will say this was not intentional, yeah right! I will say here I was by chance giving an interview at Michael's Hot Sauce Wonka headquarters and someone all of sudden mentioned what Edward said and that is why I lost my emotions (and 'someone' had to inform me because we all know I do not follow every single little thing Van Halen does haha). I Sam will make sure to tell them it was spontaneous, though for a spontaneous action it makes no sense to then say it was spontaneous in the blurb.
