Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!! -
You are too fixated on the visual. When really it comes down to the root fact that these are musical bands, and the music/sound is the foundation. Yeah they all looked pretty much the same, but when you were in your car playing the cassette you couldn't see them, just hear them. It's there that the fate & length of their careers were determined.“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”Comment

RIOT. Always liked these guys, even though they never really hit the big time. They had a lot of bad luck.
Bulletboys cover of the Tom Waits tune, " St. Christopher " was awesome. Don't know much else about these acts mentioned in the thread.
At the time, I just figured they are mostly just a bunch of third rate pansey assed posers and never bothered to check them out.
But I have recently taken a liking to Skid Row, after seeing Sebastion Bach on the Canadian comedy show, " Trailer Park Boys ". Some of their stuff is pretty good. Their mini cd of cover tunes wasn't that bad.Comment

Kings X was the anti-hair band. They arrived during the peak of the hair era yet delivered fresh music of depth and substance while their peers were singing about partying and sex (not that there's anything wrong with that).
King X is one of the greatest rock groups of our generation and Gretchen goes to Nebraska is their MasterpieceComment

I sang with Kings X on their Ear Candy tour in Hartford. I had been in the front singing along when DUg heard me and passed the Mic down and we began a back and forth passing the mic to each other. At the end He pulled me up on stage for the encore. I sang Closer to home by Grand Funk.
Pretty cool. At the end Jerry Gaskill got out from behind his kit to shake my hand. Awesome.Comment
