What a sack of shit. Most of the Jesus story that hasn't been lifted from earlier myths is about giving away most of your money away to the poor which almost no Christians do. The character doesn't even mention homosexuality. Divorce is specifically strongly prohibited which most Christians ignore. Slavery, possibly the most abhorrent moral crime you can commit against another human is completely tolerated if not encouraged.

Its a shitty mixed bag of a belief system. It's almost completely useless because it can be used to justify almost any behavior whatsoever because it constantly contradicts itself.

Chances are if you can get two members to marry the church has control of the next generation. The doctrine is just filler. It can be anything. The key is the social structure of the church.
