Only simpletons are impressed by a few dozen Tea Party rednecks chowing down at Chik-Fil-A-Holes.
Huge Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Nike all support gay rights ---- and the Christian weirdos only have one greasy fried chicken franchise on their side?
I still seriously doubt hardcore fundagelicals are going to vote for Mittens.Originally posted by conmee

If you are going to look at long-term demographics I hate to say it but the group who breeds the most wins. The Muslims will take over Europe by out breeding the athiests and agnostics. The religious right Christians especially Mormons will out breed the liberals here. I'm sorry to say but it might even be more fucked up in the future than it is now. Children indeed are a weapon.
Actually, most of the evidence shows America is becoming less religious in the past 20+ years:
The American Religious Identification Survey finds that more than three-fourths of U.S. adults call themselves Christians -- a shrinking percentage owing to sharp declines among mainline Protestants. More than one-third of American adults identify themselves as evangelical or born-again. Fifteen percent of respondents said they had no religion -- a category that increased in every state.
Some of it is due to demographic factors --- such as higher rates of college graduates and increasing percentage of single-parent families.
I think a lot of the shift to less religiosity is due to the Internet. Parents had an easier time brainwashing their kids in the 70's and 80's that the Christian way of life was the dominant one in American culture. But once the Internet and it's free flow of information took off in the 90's --- even kids living in isolated small towns could see there were a lot of non-Christians, gays, and minorities living in the USA. This changed a lot of worldviews. I can remember gay people being on TV about as much as Bigfoot in the 80's and now they're everywhere!
Like your other post says --- churches are getting desperate these days --- get away from teaching dogma and install the Starbucks counters and crank up the hip hop music --- that's the only way to attract younger members to a shrinking base.Comment

The Republicans have fucked themselves by aligning too strongly with the extreme religious right. Blame it on the Dubya-Palin-Bachmann sheep who gained a foothold in the national media.
Old Mitty is too soft for them --- he's not out there with the other Tea Party weirdos chowing down on Chik-fil-A'sshole processed parts and blasting those filthy gays! That's how a proper GOP candidate is supposed to act these days.
Old Mitty will lose in November and they'll quickly get to work grooming their next Messiah of Hate & Intolerance.
So predictable.Comment

One thing I get from this thread is how different we treat religion and how different our religious people are in the uk .
The US religions seem a lot more militant and forth right than ours ,the uk religious people are all a bit more tea and cake and father jack than brain washing and evangelism ... Or in my experience at least .
The most militant they get is toput a letter through the door saying their having a table top sale .... Which is no more militant than the local charities would do .
We have religious folks like that here in the USA as well and I like them. Some of the old biddies at the local Presbyterian church bake delicious potato pierogies and pumpkin pie around Halloween time and I buy it because it's fucking tasty stuff. They never pull the "praise Jesus" shit when I purchase their goods ---- just a friendly "thank you" and I'm on my way home with some delicious grub!
The only religious people I have a problem with are the ones who get in your face about their silly beliefs --- like a Jehova's Witness banging at my door or Tea Party shitbirds eating at some greasy chicken joint to tell us how much they hate gays and other "non-desirables" in society.Comment

Just saw this on the TV in the office lounge... usually I don't condone acts of vandalism, but ....this is funny and hell, and they pretty much deserve it.

Before, during his ascension to and in the early part of his rule, Hitler spoke positively about Christianity in order to appear that he would be a leader who would protect Christianity in Germany, as the heads of Germany's churches were quite influential in politics at that time. Hence TMJKID's bullshit quotes and pictures from 1936.
Once he cemented his power, his attitudes towards Christians and Catholicism changed sharply. Hitler could not attack Christianity as openly as he did Judaism, communism or political opponents. He set about attacking the Church as he had in earlier times attacked his political enemies. The attacks tended not to be overt. Believers were made to feel that they were not good Germans and their leaders were painted as treasonous and contemptible. The state removed crucifixes from the walls of Catholic classrooms and replaced it with a photos of Hitler and Christian elements in Christmas carols were replaced with pagan references.
The first three displayed pages of this book discusses a portion of this: http://books.google.com/books?id=xRr...page&q&f=false
I've read Mein Kamph and he only makes reference to a remote supreme being, making references such as "creator of the universe" or "lord of creation" but there is no concrete adherence or statement that binds him to any specific religion, adding that he believed the Aryan race was created by God. Ultimately his religious views are like his art, his military strategy, his personal life, his politics and every other facet of the man: fragmented, twisted and deeply flawed.“If bullshit was currency, Joe Biden would be a billionaire.” - George W. Christian dipshits are pushing themselves closer to massive heart attacks by furiously ingesting all that chicken grease --- and now the gays are resorting to vandalism and widespread PDA for retaliation.
Election year bullshit is definitely more entertaining this time around!

This is waay more than disapproving.
How is sucking someone's cock to give them pleasure immoral.
Does that make Mrs BBB immoral?
She is only moral because she has a vagina?
Moral doesn't come into it, the hostility isn't about morality it's about culture and fear and tradition and otherness.Comment
