Apple has always been gay friendly. My brother's boss at National Semiconductor took over as CEO there before Steve Jobs came in. He had a fabulous place on the south shore of Lake Tahoe and we spent a weekend up there. This guy was an east coast suit and tie type and he said the first day he took over at Apple one of the engineers was wearing a dress. He said he then knew he was in a whole new universe. LOL!

Hewlett Packard was looking for volunteers to build a float for the gay parade in Boise, Idaho when I worked there. We all got the memo in our e-mail. One co-worker of mine wrote a reply saying please do not send these type of memos regarding gays because I find it offensive. She was fired for that reply. I thought that was lame. She was a good employee but just had a different view. So much for tolerance. All she requested was to be taken off the mailing list. I thought it was bullshit.

I got no problem bashing capitalism and big corporations --- I'd like to see most of the Wall Street criminals who caused the Great Recession rotting away in prison.

This Chik-fil-A fiasco is mostly about the Christian right seeing their whole world getting flushed down the toilet as America (and the world) becomes increasingly less white and less religious and this causes them to lose sleep at night.

I'm happy as shit about it because after 2000+ miserable years --- maybe the human race will finally realize science and rational thought are the only things that will solve our complex problems. Sky Daddy will never help us out.

If you are going to look at long-term demographics I hate to say it but the group who breeds the most wins. The Muslims will take over Europe by out breeding the athiests and agnostics. There seems to be a polarization in America in religious beliefs to me. Atheism is growing fast, 10 million more in the last 10 years. When I first posted here there were almost none and now there seem to be quite a few. At the same time half the Christians seem to be evangelist nutjob fundies rather than the more sensible old school sects. Catholicism is starting to look comparatively quite mild in the American religious marketplace.
